Keeping tabs on community giving

June 14, 2011
Students from the Grade 4R class at Landing Trail School, in Gibbons, popped the tops off expectations for their year-long fundraising effort. Eight months ago, the class began collecting pop can tabs to support Ronald McDonald House Charities. An impressive 50 pounds of pop tabs was collected—roughly 63,350 tabs! The class presented their donation to Kyle Goertzen, of Ronald McDonald House. The charity recycles the tabs and puts the proceeds toward providing a home away from home for families with children in the hospital.
